It is hard to put into a few categories what we can print, so it might be best to just contact us, but we do a few “standard” options for custom designed printed work - broadsides, cards and business cards. Regardless of what you want, we’ll work with you on your concept, come up with a design and the process will go from there. In 3-4 weeks (letterpress is not the fastest, though we think it is the most beautiful) process around, you’ll receive your order. And everything will be printed on one of our vintage presses. Please read the descriptions below to see what each option offers.

Broadside - A broadside is fancy print speak for a larger print that is meant for display. Think a poster. For a broadside, we’ll design and print up to 25 individual prints. These will be printed on our Reliance, our largest press, which can print up to 11 x 14 inches (the paper can be larger, but the text cannot be larger than this). We typically use heavy weight natural color engraving paper, which gives a clean, crisp result and a deep impression. Your design can be printed in two colors - for more than 2 colors, we charge an additional $25 per color because of the additional time and materials required.

Cards - Our second standard option if for up to cards 75 cards, printed in up to two colors. We use either Crane Museo card stocks or Strathmore watercolor card stocks, depending on if you want the cards to be hand tinted. For a basic order, we’ll print your cards in two colors. One option we offer for cards is hand tinting. Letterpress printing is a single color-per print process, not a full color process. As a result, we often hand-tint our prints, just as would have been done in the 18th and 19th centuries. For an additional charge of $25, we will hand tint your cards using gauche water color paint. Each will be a bit different, but all beautiful.

Business Cards - Yes, we can print business cards. Again, we’ll work with your design and paper and print up to 500 in up to 2 colors. These will be printed on one of our automated presses, either or Kelsey Star or pre-1910 Chandler & Price. As only letterpress can, your text will be crisp, the impression deep. We can even emboss and un-inked into the card. As most common business card stocks are not well suited for letterpress printing, we work with a select group of mills who supply letterpress business card stock.
